Chartered Accountants Worldwide (CAW) announced that Michael Izza, CEO of ICAEW, has been appointed as the second Chairman of CAW. He follows Pat Costello who has stepped down after 3 years in the role.
Prof. Mardiasmo, President of Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia (IAI/Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountants) congratulates the appointment of Michael Izza as Chairman of CAW and awaits the intensified activities of IAI and CAW in building the capacity of the global accounting profession. He believes that membership with and recognition from CAW is a key milestone in continuous efforts to further strengthen the Chartered Accountant qualification around the world, with the broader aim to build the capacity of professional accountants in the country and be ready with the ever-changing regional and global environment.
He said, “I believe Mr. Izza will do a remarkable work to strengthen the role of the profession and influence the future of the global profession. As a member of CAW, IAI will optimize its role in strengthening Chartered Accountant's brand and recognition in the global business world.â€
Outgoing chairman, Pat Costello says: “It has been a privilege to be the first Chairman for the Chartered Accountants Worldwide and to see the family grow from strength to strength. I know the organisation is in safe and dynamic hands and Michael, as an outstanding leader, will build on the foundations to take our members to the next levelâ€.
In his new role as Chairman, Michael Izza will promote the contribution made by members and the profession as a driver of business and economic confidence and growth across the world.
